About MyOS
What MyOS is
MyOS is a personalised AI operating system for Claude. It runs a structured onboarding that captures how you communicate, work, and think, then generates SKILL.md files that make Claude behave consistently to your standards. The result is an AI that sounds like you, follows your processes, and improves over time.
The system works in three layers. The foundation layer captures your writing voice, communication style, brand standards, and thinking patterns. The workflow layer configures recurring tasks — meeting notes, email drafting, status updates, document formatting. The output layer generates bespoke formats for deliverables specific to your role.
It takes about an hour. It costs £9. And it changes the way you work with AI permanently.
Who built it
MyOS was built by Riordan Hill. Rory works at the intersection of AI tooling and knowledge work, focused on making AI useful for people who write, plan, and communicate for a living. He has spent the past two years building AI-powered productivity systems and studying how knowledge workers actually use large language models day to day.
The idea for MyOS came from direct experience. When Rory switched from ChatGPT to Claude, he lost months of built-up efficiency overnight — custom GPTs, tone settings, workflow shortcuts, all gone. The default Claude experience was powerful but generic. Every conversation started from zero. The system he wished existed on day one — a way to configure Claude around how you actually work, not how the defaults assume you do — did not exist. So he built it.
The first version was a set of markdown files he wrote for himself. When colleagues tried them and reported the same step-change in output quality, it became clear the approach worked beyond one person. MyOS is the productised version of that system: a guided onboarding that extracts the same configuration from anyone in about an hour.
Rory has built personalised AI systems for knowledge workers across consulting, content production, financial analysis, and operations. He writes about Claude AI setup, personalisation, and workflows on the MyOS blog.
The approach
Most AI tools treat personalisation as a memory feature — the model passively accumulates facts about you across conversations. MyOS takes a different approach. It treats personalisation as configuration: structured, explicit, and portable.
SKILL.md files are markdown instruction files that Claude loads dynamically based on the task you are working on. They are not prompts. They are behavioural specifications that define how Claude should write, think, and format output for your specific context. Because they are files rather than conversation history, they persist across sessions, stack with each other, and can be edited directly.
This approach means your AI does not degrade over time. It does not forget your preferences mid-conversation. And when Claude releases new capabilities, your configuration carries forward automatically.
